On Mission

“I always thought that faith belonged to the irrational. But when I saw Jesus love those who drove Him to the cross, I began to suspect my idea was wrong.”

These were beautiful words to hear after first encountering this man in East Asia who appeared a bit skeptical and uninterested in hearing about Christ. In fact, he even seemed a bit bored.

His wife, a follower of Christ, invited workers showing the “JESUS” film (based on the Gospel of Luke) into their home with the hope that he would be gripped by what he saw. So in they came with their computer and projector.

He fidgeted frequently as he began to watch the film. As the movie progressed and he witnessed the miracles, love and selfless sacrifice of Christ, he became very still. His eyes were fixed on the screen, face-to-face with Jesus.

There was silence in the room as the movie ended. No one said a word. After a few moments of stillness, they asked her husband about his need for a Savior. That’s when he made the above statement. And that’s when he placed his faith in Christ.

What made him decide to follow Christ? It wasn’t logic or some great apologetic reasoning. “I was conquered by the love of Christ,” he proclaimed.

Serving at our global headquarters with Cru, we feel privileged to help resource our ministry and partners around the world so that people like this man can encounter Jesus and experience the incredible love of Christ. Thank you for helping to make this happen through your prayers and support. Jesus’ love does indeed make a difference here and around the world!

Yours in Christ,

Luke and Erin
