Heaven’s Cupboard is one of the many ministries to the community supported by Mount Olive.
Heaven’s Cupboard is an outreach program providing food for Wayne Township school students and their families. Heaven’s Cupboard is not a food pantry and is very unique in how it operates.
This is how it works:
1. School administrators/parent liaisons make a request for the family in need via this website. See the link above on the menu bar for the school log-in.
2. The team coordinator receives the request and assigns a volunteer team. A volunteer team member contacts the family.
3. The volunteers will shop for the family and deliver the groceries to the home within 48 hours and often the same day as the request.
4. Approximately $120-$150 is spent per family depending on family size.
5. Groceries include milk, meat, eggs, fresh fruit/vegetables and nonperishable foods.
6. The volunteers know if there are specific family needs or concerns (allergies, lack of pans or appliances).
Dr. Jeff Butts, Superintendent of MSD Wayne Township said this about Mount Olive, “We Are Wayne is about our entire community working together to improve the opportunities for our children and our overall quality of life. The Mt. Olive Ministries congregation has been an integral part in making “We Are Wayne” a reality. The partnership between Mount Olive and our schools has been a blessing for the staff, students, and families. Most importantly, Pastor Mandie frequently offers us up in prayer inside the church building and through social media. Mount Olive’s outreach is invaluable and we are so appreciative to have them as a partner.”
